Otobong Nkanga

Otobong Nkanga, born in 1974 in Kano, Nigeria, is a visual artist and performer based in Paris and Antwerp. Her work explores notions of identity, the status of African women and the cultural particularities of Nigeria, her country of origin. His work has been presented in numerous institutions including the Pompidou Centre (Paris), the Tate Modern (London), the Kunst-Werke (de) (Berlin), the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam) and the Sharjah Biennale (Sharjah). In 2015, she won the Yanghyun Prize.
