Riverbed / Stone Piece is part of Yoko Ono's interactive works. To present it for the first time outside, Yoko Ono thought to arrange the pebbles as one would find them on the bed of a river or a torrent. The artist adds an instruction: "Choose a pebble and hold it until anger and sadness have passed away". It is a matter of activating the work, of putting it into action by participating in a kind of collective meditation linking men, the visible and the invisible, ordinary time and that of feeling. Riverbed / Stone Piece evokes a zen garden where Yoko Ono offers everyone the freedom to interact with the work that evolves according to the emotions of visitors.
