Creation in Melle

In Melle, around a wall, in the streets of a neighborhood, a mural artist and a sound artist gather remnants of paint from residents and collect their stories. From pots left long in a cellar, at the back of a closet, or on a shelf, forgotten colors... From this raw material emerges a hybrid work: a visual and auditory painting. It takes the form of a painted building, augmented by a sound creation. Like a giant abstract analog track, the layers of colors imprint the architecture of singular stories. The voices and sounds of encountered situations enrich this local and sensitive coloristic panorama. Making an event and a collective work, such is the challenge of the project. It seemed obvious to invest in an architecture that embodies "us." The municipality accepted the bold proposal to offer the Jacques Prévert community hall for this collaborative painting. Seconde Pot also proposes an alternative way of thinking about a muralism project and its raw materials.
