Didier Marcel was born in 1961 in Besançon. He lives and works in Dijon. 

Born in 1961 in Besançon, Didier Marcel has been exhibiting his works since the end of the 1980s. It is the theme of the irruption of manufactured objects (cars, models of buildings) or natural objects (tree trunks, logs of wood). ), inside the exhibition spaces which characterizes the work of this artist. It is always an improbable encounter between the place and the objects. The latter, removed from their context and exposed, lose their previous function. We could thus compare the approach of this sculptor to the heterotopias of Michel Foucault: “the things there are “lying”, “placed”, “arranged” in sites so different that it is impossible to find a space for them. “welcome, to define a common place beneath each other.”
