Fabrice SAMYN
Fabrice Samyn was born in Brussels in 1981. He lives and works in the same city.
Fabrice Samyn develops a work whose coherence unfolds in diversity, both in terms of form (painting, photography, sculptures, installations, performance...) and in substance by the questions raised. He works around essential themes such as time, the question of representation in our current society, overcoming dualities: sacred-profane, idol-icon, man-woman, nature-culture shadow and light. He draws inspiration from different pictorial and conceptual as well as spiritual traditions (Western and Eastern) to more generally question the relationship between time and identity. His work is punctuated by participatory and collaborative works in which he interacts with people with unique perspectives such as intersex people, war survivors, blind people, or people suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
