Farid KATI

Farid Kati was born in 1994 in Bondy in Seine-Saint-Denis. He lives and works in Paris. 

“Energetic forces and the memory of the wind are at the heart of my thinking. Conditioned by the presence of the wind, I converge in my diverse practice (installation, video, sculpture, drawing) to a rereading of the surrounding world, writing of movement but also of the imprint. In perpetual search for signs, I try to make visible a secret image of the outside world, an image of signs and of oneself.

My Adugraphes machines - sculptures, “Adu” from the Berber word wind, tend towards the essential gestures through which, over the centuries, humans have little by little forged artifacts to think and master the nature where they are thrown. In their attempts at cosmic dialogue, they symbolize our place in the universe. […]”
