Farid Kati's artistic practice is deeply rooted in the exploration of energetic forces and the memory of the wind. Through various mediums such as installation, video, sculpture, and drawing, he seeks to breathe life into a reinterpretation of the world around us, capturing the movement and delicate imprint of the wind. His kinetic sculptures, transforming into weathervanes, barometers, and anemometers, offer a window into moving landscapes while expressing a range of emotions. He coins the traces left by these movements as "adugraphies," a neologism formed by combining the Berber word "adu," meaning wind, with the concept of writing.
Through his works, he aims to evoke profound themes such as migration, memory, transmission, wandering, and escape, while prompting reflection on the symbolic and universal significance of the wind, which transcends epochs and cultures. These thoughtful dimensions stimulate awareness in his quest for the wind, which, like his Algerian roots, moves from one territory to another. By questioning signs and symbols, he strives to reach a fundamental reminiscence evoked by the original breath that has traversed the world since ancient times. Capturing wind writings will therefore take place under the kiosk of Place Bujault over these three months with Adugraphe N°6
