Gaël LÉVÊQUE
Gaël Lévêque was born in 1994 in Marignane in Bouches-du-Rhône. He lives and works in Marseille.
Gaël Lévêque is interested in the conditions for the appearance of suspended moments.
Often contextual, his installations, performances, photographs, sound and literary compositions or his videos summon the workings of an event to reveal its intensity. Through these reversal operations, it reveals the behind the scenes of occupied spaces and bears witness to the relationships that bind us. In this sense, the situations it produces question the relative positions of each of the elements, in order to go beyond them. If we say that a stage decor or a sound layer colors the action, its pieces function in the same way, like zones of porosity. They invite the public to take part in a collective experience as much as they maintain the mystery: what chemistry allows everything to exist?
