Hugues REIP
Hugues Reip was born in 1964 in Cannes. He lives and works in Paris.
Sculptor, designer, musician, video artist, photographer, Hugues Reip (born in 1964) is freely inspired by the anticipatory works of the early 20th century, the beginnings of animated cinema and the history of scientific illustration. It was nourished as much by a certain underground rock of the 1990s as by the infinite variety of terrestrial and underwater fauna and flora. The viewer of Hugues Reip's work travels into a landscape where perception and illusion are two great experiences. In his home, each rock, each tree, each object seems to conceal a fantastic divinity, in a form of surrealist syncretism. Hugues Reip is a gardener of the supernatural.
