Hugues Reip practices, in his visual works, a kind of visual equivalent of concrete music, always working more or less with found images, sounds, objects, or texts. Toon is a three-dimensional creature but without relief, an accumulation of strips, disks, and other graphic signs that together form a catch-all figure, like an image suffering from a glitch or screen freeze. This is another way for Reip to play with contemporary images and makeshift means.
