Jan KOPP
Jan Kopp was born in 1970 in Frankfurt, Germany. He lives and works in Lyon.
“Jan Kopp is a protean artist. Videographer, designer, sculptor, he creates installations and performs... and we have seen him give conferences, imagine scenographies and teach dance. Attentive to plastic and visual qualities, he creates composite and poetic works which induce an active perception of time and space. Whatever their aesthetic universe, his creations tend above all to make visible the possibilities of individual positioning: they suggest appropriations of space, encourage a particular use of objects, invite movement, shift the gaze, propose the invention of 'a new language... They question the public space, the common place (in the literal sense of the term) and “being together”. These are all experiences that involve the circulation and exchange of words, the ephemerality of a physical presence that is both unique and common, the existence of a community. » [...]
