Constellation of Sculptures in Mellois, 14 Key Wood Entanglement on Poles, 500 x 300 x 10 cm

The Entremelloises emerge from Johann Le Guillerm's research project known as Les Architextures. Architectures in their form and textures in their mesh, Les Architextures infiltrate landscapes with their wooden structures. They are ephemeral constructions, devoid of fixed purpose, mutable and migratory, exposed to the elements and imbued with the memories and histories of the sites they inhabit. They subtly and enduringly modify the landscape as much as the landscape transforms them. This site-specific creation draws inspiration from the landscape of Mellois.

The Entremelloises recall the arboreal history of the region, devastated during the Middle Ages by silver mining and currently highlighted through national and certified tree collections. They engage in dialogue with the wind turbines on the horizon, inviting multiple interpretations linked to the vibrant current events of the department, its culture, and the religious influences shaping its unique character. Designed through an intricate interweaving process, each Entremelloise suggests a specific ideogram. Installed in seven participating municipalities, each sculpture is duplicated to be placed along the discovery trail, composing a symbolic forest. The Entremelloises offer a constellation on the scale of Mellois. For the 10th Biennale of Contemporary Art in Melle, they initiate an artistic mapping of the territory in the Ecu field.

Works made possible thanks to the generous support of Groupe Archimbaud and Disko Métal.
